The holiday house Baita Tana da l’Ors is located on the plateau of Monte Prat in the town of Forgaria in Friuli (UD). The area is nestled on the border between the provinces of Udine and Pordenone in a position from which it dominates the entire hilly arch and the Friuli Plain, in which the river Tagliamento flows. The pristine environment, deprived of any type of pollution is at an altitude accessible to all age groups: these factors make the area suitable for the relaxed practice of sports with low environmental impact, in harmony with nature, such as trekking and cycling. A dense network of marked and mapped trails starts from the Monte Prat Plateau in different directions until reaching the ridges of the mountains that make up the central Friulian foothills. The proximity to the natural reserve of the Lake of Corno (Griffins) and the Pakar lakes also allow activities such as bird-watching, nature photography and fishing. A few kilometers away you can visit cities of art such as the capital of the mosaic, the medieval Gemona, and Venzone as well as the homeland of prosciutto San Daniele del Friuli, or hike between the mountains of Tarvisiano and Carnia or enjoy the relaxation of Piancavallo. For lunch and dinner, guests can enjoy the different restaurants and farmhouses in the area where the food and the dishes are genuine, rich in flavor, but simple in the ingredients and will conquer even the most refined palates.
