We moved from a small town in Emilia to Alta Valtellina!
Our holiday home is very large and welcoming! It wants to bring back memories of the past, the authenticity, the sincerity of ancient crafts.
The antique furniture in pure wood, embroidered sheets in pure linen and pure cotton, many other details that take you back to the best times of the past and also convey values that have now been lost!
Breakfasts can be prepared by the guests in the apartment or included in the price, in this case we provide local food.
We also have an outdoor courtyard with tables to play or use for outdoor lunches-dinners, and two small gardens.
We are in Sondalo, at the beginning of the historic center just a few minutes from many tourist locations and extraordinary valleys like:
Bormio, Livigno, Val Viola, Val di Rezzalo, Val Zebrù etc.
Through trusted guides, we organise trips, trekking, etc.
We are also very close to the Valtellina path for beautiful and peaceful bike rides.

We were fortunate enough to stay for a few days in this splendid home; everything was so good and authentic! We were assigned a bright, spacious apartment that sleeps six, with original furnishings, embroidered bed linens, and grandma's timeless, colorful tiled blankets! From the living room balcony, you can admire a breathtakingly beautiful view! Caterina, the host, was punctual and precise with her information, present, but never intrusive. Don't miss the extra breakfast prepared and served by the hosts: simple, authentic, and in a romantic atmosphere. Congratulations!

We stayed five days at the "Come una Volta" Holiday Home, deeply appreciating the hospitality and attention to detail. The love for the home and the hospitality shown to its guests made our time in the apartment truly pampering. The rooms are spacious and warm, and the furnishings have been lovingly restored. The kitchen is well-equipped, and the breakfast selection is generous. Finally, for those who enjoy snow sports, there are common areas for storing wet skis and boots. Ours was a wonderful experience and we thank the owners and their lovely family for this opportunity.

We had a truly unforgettable stay in the apartment managed by Caterina and Umberto, two impeccable hosts in every way. Their welcome was warm and attentive, and they were always available. A unique location that is absolutely worth knowing

I spent a night at Casa Vacanza Come una Volta in Sondalo during a business trip, and I was amazed at how much this place makes you feel instantly at home. I had the entire apartment to myself, and even though I was traveling alone and didn't fully utilize it, I clearly sensed the care and passion Caterina and Umberto put into the renovation. It's one of those places where you can feel the touch of someone who loves what they do. It was a bit like opening a drawer of memory: the "beautiful" cotton sheets, the ones that gently touch the skin, and the wool blankets that truly warm, with that comforting weight that takes you back to childhood. The house is quiet and welcoming, and despite the new bed, which usually means a sleepless night for me, I slept soundly, like I haven't in a while. The room is spacious, warm, and furnished with attention to every detail, avoiding the obvious. The bathroom won me over: a large shower (which is not so easy to find), soft, scented towels, and impeccable cleanliness. Overall, the whole house has that lived-in but never stale feel, with a delicate scent that makes it even more pleasant. And for someone like me, who keeps her radar turned on for smells, that's a huge plus. Breakfast deserves a chapter of its own. It's served in the living room, in front of a sideboard that's so beautiful I could take home with me (and I'm not kidding). The birds provide the soundtrack. The buffet is a feast: fresh bread, mountain butter, organic yogurt, local jams, cakes, bresaola, cheese, cereals, biscuits, croissants, juices, tea, coffee... it's impossible not to feel pampered. Caterina is the kind of hostess you'd always hope to find: welcoming, genuine, and always ready to share tips on things to do, places to see, and restaurants to try. She knows how to make your vacation easier and more enjoyable. As a Valtellina native, I can honestly say that Come una Volta is a gift for those seeking an authentic stay, far removed from impersonal standards. Una location unica e assolutamente da conoscere

Ho trascorso una notte alla Casa Vacanza Come una Volta a Sondalo, durante un mio viaggio di lavoro, e mi sono sorpresa di quanto questo posto sappia farti sentire subito "a casa". L’intero appartamento era a mia disposizione e anche se viaggiavo da sola, quindi senza sfruttarlo al massimo, ho percepito chiaramente la cura e la passione che Caterina e Umberto hanno messo nella ristrutturazione. È uno di quei luoghi in cui si avverte la mano di chi ama ciò che fa.

È stato un po’ come aprire un cassetto della memoria: le lenzuola di cotone "belle", quelle che sfiorano la pelle con delicatezza, e le coperte di lana che scaldano davvero, con quel peso confortante che ti riporta all’infanzia.
La casa è silenziosa, accogliente, e nonostante il letto nuovo, che di solito per me significa notte in bianco, ho dormito profondamente, come non mi capitava da un po’.

La camera è ampia, calda, arredata con attenzione a ogni dettaglio, evitando le soluzioni scontate.
Il bagno mi ha conquistata: una doccia grande (che non è così facile trovare), asciugamani soffici e profumati, e una pulizia impeccabile. In generale tutta la casa ha quell’aria vissuta ma mai vecchia, con un profumo delicato che la rende ancora più piacevole. E per una come me, che ha il radar acceso sugli odori, è un valore aggiunto enorme.

La colazione merita un capitolo a parte. Si fa nel soggiorno, davanti a una credenza che potrei portarmi via tanto è bella (e non scherzo). Gli uccellini fanno da colonna sonora.
Il buffet è una festa: pane fresco, burro di malga, yogurt bio, marmellate del territorio, torte, bresaola, formaggio, cereali, biscotti, brioches, succhi, tè, caffè… impossibile non sentirsi coccolati.

Caterina è la tipica padrona di casa che vorresti sempre trovare: accogliente, genuina, pronta a darti dritte su cose da fare, posti da vedere, ristoranti da provare. Sa rendere la vacanza più semplice e più bella.

Da Valtellinese dico sinceramente che Come una Volta è un dono per chi cerca un soggiorno autentico, lontano dagli standard impersonali. È il posto giusto per rallentare, respirare e dimenticare lo stress. Un piccolo angolo di Valtellina che vale davvero la pena vivere.
