A place to breathe deeply – our dream destination in South Tyrol

For several years now, the Weckhof has become a regular destination for our spring and autumn holidays – but we've also been here in summer and winter. And every time, we feel it anew: this place is something very special in every season. Here you can still experience authentic South Tyrol – far removed from the emerging luxury and design tourism that is increasingly spreading in the region. Instead, you can expect warm hospitality, a close connection to nature, and to the people who shape this place. Since our first visit, we have fallen in love with the Weckhof and its welcoming host family. For us, the Weckhof is a place to switch off, find peace and recharge our batteries. In the mornings we listen to the chirping of the birds, the bleating of the sheep and the soft mooing of the cows – an idyllic scene that is rare to find these days. The Weckhof is also an ideal starting point for hiking enthusiasts. From here, you can embark on all kinds of tours – from leisurely strolls to challenging hikes. Along the way, numerous inns invite you to stop for refreshments, offering culinary delights that easily rival those of the larger restaurants in the valley. And for those who fancy a taste of city life: Lana, Merano, and Bolzano are all within easy reach by car. Last but not least, our dog also feels like he's in paradise here every time – plenty of space to run around, fresh mountain air and friendly encounters included. We are grateful to have discovered this place and hope to be able to spend many more holidays in this magical corner of the world.

At Weckhof, just like at friends’ houses

Warm welcome by Mrs. Pichler, good breakfast, superb view down to Bolzano, good starting point for hikes, romantic location with cows and sheep nearby, recommended own red wine and apple juice.
