B&B-Hotel Schönberg 

Great starting point

Situated in Rio Bianco, this hotel is a great base for beautiful hikes amid breathtaking scenery. Guests can reach mountain huts where they can enjoy traditional dishes. Perfect for bikers like me who want to pedal and tackle uphill trails in the beautiful Aurina Valley. I'd recommend the clean rooms, the excellent and plentiful breakfast, and the delicious pizzas from the attached pizzeria. The bus stop is very close, and a small supermarket is just a few kilometers away. I stayed there for a week and had a great time, and I hope to return.

Hospitality and top quality at honest prices

Strategically located slightly above the valley, it's cooler in the summer. The rooms, restaurant, garden, and spa are all beautifully appointed. Breakfasts are a real treat, with a generous selection of high-quality local products, both sweet and savory, and authentic delicacies prepared in the kitchen, with a different selection every morning. You can request a lunch "basket", which is anything but ordinary, complete and for only 8 euros! For dinner we tried both pizza and the restaurant, everything was really delicious! Finally, friendliness and customer service, always with a smile, are the ingredients for a perfect stay, which I want to repeat as soon as I have the opportunity.

Memorable vacation

Beautiful holiday

What can I say about staying at the Schonberg Hotel? Well, I can only say great things. We've been vacationing in the Aurina Valley at this property for several years now, and we were once again satisfied. The room was truly comfortable and always clean. Not to mention the food, as in addition to excellent pizzas, you can order several other truly delicious dishes. And the location is quiet but also strategic given that it is less than 5 minutes from Lutago, a crossroads point both for descending into the valley and for climbing further up. M. and Diego

Excellent food, clean and tastefully decorated place

Hotel 5 minutes from Lutago, clean and very nice rooms, excellent food at a fair price. I stayed there for 10 days with my family (two adults, a child, and a dog) on a B&B basis, but the food was so good that we decided to dine at the restaurant 9 times out of 10... the pizza was excellent, too! Highly recommended!

A landmark in Rio Bianco

We've been frequenting this establishment for 10 years, both using the pizzeria/restaurant and the rooms. The staff is helpful, the food is very good and plentiful, and the rooms are clean and simply furnished but comfortable. Max and Brighitte, the hosts, are always very kind and helpful. We always love coming back. We recommend it!

Family holiday in Weissenbach

We had a wonderful time here with our two daughters (8 and 10 years old). The food here is excellent. Breakfast was very varied and tastefully presented. The espresso was excellent. We enjoyed Max's pizza three evenings in a row, although the salads and children's meals were also very well prepared. Whether you have children or not, there is a diverse range of leisure activities available here. The nearby Speikboden area offers many opportunities for physical activity, from the summer toboggan run to the very uniquely designed water playground. The Reinbach waterfalls in nearby Sand in Taufers are a "must" for families, and many of the huts on the slopes of the valley in Weißenbach are easily accessible with children via a short hike. The rooms are very tastefully furnished, and in our case, the double bed and the children's beds were adequately separated by a small partition. Last but not least, the Weissenbach stream rushing past the house guarantees a deep, restful sleep. All in all: A wonderful holiday.

An oasis of snow, relaxation, and good food

Discovered a few years ago almost by accident, while searching for snow that was scarce, now we try to never miss a year. Here, snow is always guaranteed, as is the peace and quiet of nature, without the chaos of the ski lifts... your legs carry you up to the various huts, and after a traditional lunch and a bit of relaxation on the deckchairs, you can head down on sleds (which the huts themselves provide). Back at the hotel, a cozy and intimate spa awaits you, along with spacious, well-maintained rooms in a mountain-style yet slightly modern feel. Both breakfast and dinner are excellent, and for those who can't resist pizza, that's truly special, too. In short, how could you not return?

A holiday not to be missed

We have been spending our ski holidays at the Schoenberg for 20 years. A charming place just a few kilometers from the ski slopes, an excellent base for beautiful snowshoe hikes. Brigitte and her family are hospitable and friendly. The atmosphere is homey and well-maintained, the rooms are spacious and tastefully furnished, and there's even a small relaxation room waiting for you after your hikes. When you wake up, you'll be pampered with a delicious, hearty, and abundant breakfast, while for dinner you can savor Max's fabulous pizzas and calzones, not to mention the excellent dishes, always new and never boring, prepared by Brigitte and her staff. Every year we can't wait to come back, too bad about this year, the damned virus didn't allow it but we'll make up for it as soon as possible!

A wonderful break

My wife and I felt very comfortable. We had a wonderful time. The owners and staff are incredibly welcoming. This was our second stay at Hotel Schönberg, and we will definitely be back. The breakfast is fantastic, and we always looked forward to dinner after a wonderful hike. The kitchen offers the finest cuisine for every taste, everything is fresh, and the value for money couldn't be better. Whether you're planning a mountain hike or a skiing trip, the hotel is an ideal starting point – you can travel by car, on foot, or take the bus, which stops right outside. As I said, we'll be back; there are still some peaks to conquer.

Excellent base for visiting the Aurina Valley

An excellent base for visiting the Aurina Valley, as it's away from the traffic of the Aurina Valley state road, yet just a few minutes' walk from the main road. Rio Bianco is a small village with just one shop and a few restaurants, making it much quieter than the hustle and bustle of Lutago or Campo Tures. The hotel isn't new, but they're working (successfully) to rejuvenate it with some renovations and newer features. Our room was a single, but the bed was comfortable even for two. The bathroom was brand new with a walk-in shower. It was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was good, with fresh produce and a decent variety (homemade desserts, including porridge and puddings). The restaurant/pizzeria is good, serving traditional and Mediterranean dishes. The pizza wasn't bad (I don't usually eat it in Alto Adige), the pasta was good, and the toppings were decent. The meat dishes and dumplings were excellent. The staff were friendly and spoke fairly good Italian. The hotel overlooks the main road on one side (no traffic, so it's quiet) and a stream on the other. The sound of the stream is pleasant on the first night, but then becomes a bit annoying if you leave the windows open, as it's really loud. Wi-Fi is excellent everywhere.

Simply gorgeous

Third year at the wonderful Rio Bianco and second at the Schönberg. Beautiful and clean facility, kind and welcoming owners, delicious breakfast with excellent cakes made by the talented Brigitte and her daughters, and excellent restaurant, especially the pizza. Everything was excellent, highly recommended, and I hope to return.
