Until 5 October 2025, the Mario Rimoldi Museum of Modern Art will host an exhibition dedicated to the late local artist Paolo Gabriele Barozzi – painter, illustrator, and art decorator.
Having passed away prematurely on 15 June last year, Paolo left behind not only his paintings, full of masterful technique and deep sensitivity, but also recognisable "traces" scattered throughout the Ampezzo Valley and beyond.
Deeply in love with Cortina, his birthplace, he contributed to its beauty with his refined and cultured taste. His broad knowledge, which he continuously nurtured, clearly shines through in his works.
Although he conceived his creations primarily in connection with the settings they were meant for – rather than as pieces for exhibition – we felt it was important, in agreement with his family, to share them with a wider audience.
This exhibition was born out of friendship and gratitude and, for this reason, will also feature works by five of Paolo’s friends – fellow artists who, like him, were captivated by art and shared the joy and gift of expressing their inner world through pencils, brushes, and more:
Emilio Bassanin, Gianfranco Mantovani Orsetti, Tobia Ravà, Giovannibattista Segurini, and Giovanni Schiaroli.
Opening hours: 10:30–12:30 | 16:00–20:00
Closed on Mondays – open daily in August.
