41st Stage of Diving under the Ice Anis

The well-known UNDER ICE event returns for its 41st edition: the under-ice diving stage organized by ANIS – National Association of Diving Instructors will take place on January 31 and February 1, 2026, at the stunning Lake Lavarone in Trentino, over 1000 meters above sea level.

Divers from all major training agencies and State Special Forces will gather for a thrilling and unforgettable experience beneath the ice.

This event is the first major appointment of the year for the Italian diving community and offers a unique chance to improve one’s skills in total safety, with the possibility of joining a night dive.

This year, the stage will also welcome about ten visually impaired participants from the Albatros Association – Paolo Pinto Project, showing how inclusive and accessible the underwater world can be.

Diving cylinders will be provided by the organizers, and free gear testing will be available, thanks to top brands like CRESSI, including dry suits, dive lights, and dive computers.

A special guest of the event will be Luca Da Prato, Paralympic swimming champion and torchbearer for the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympic Games.

Special thanks go to the Tourism Board of Folgaria, Lavarone, and Luserna, and to the Special Forces units (Police Divers, Guardia di Finanza, Coast Guard), along with Civil Protection volunteers, especially Monza Soccorso, for their vital assistance.

The event is open to all certified divers, and awards will be given to the largest group, the group traveling the furthest, and any school or club with at least 5 participants.

Set in the magical snowy landscape of Trentino, UNDER ICE 2026 promises excitement, inclusion, and a deep sense of community — all beneath the ice.
