Carnival Parade 2026
Shrove Tuesday in Vigo di Fassa
The festivities begin at 2:30 pm with the themed carnival parade, featuring decorated floats created by local volunteer associations, the "Coscritti" of 2008, who will turn 18 in 2026, and local school groups.
Surrounded by cheering spectators, the colorful parade will move along Strada Rezia and continue to Piaz J.B. Massar, followed by all the masked participants. Here, visitors can enjoy a wide selection of traditional local food, both sweet and savory, in a lively and welcoming atmosphere.
For adults, the Carnival celebrations continue into the evening, with music and entertainment throughout the village.
Joy, jokes, dancing and delicious treats: in Val di Fassa, the final day of Carnascèr has always been a true explosion of festivity in town squares. For centuries, Carnival represented the happiest time of the year, eagerly awaited by older generations, who could become children again through playful pranks and witty jokes, often hidden behind the traditional "faceres" — finely crafted wooden masks still produced today by some of the valley’s most renowned sculptors.
It was also a special time for young people, who often married between February and March, making the season even more meaningful. That same playful spirit and love for disguise live on today in the events of the Carnascèr Ladin, still considered one of the most beautiful and authentic times of the year in Val di Fassa.
