The Hotel Schwarzer Adler is one of the oldest inns in Tyrol. Its origin dates back to the 14th century. The local population still calls it by its ancient name, the "Unterwirt" (lower inn).
In 1986 the Mutschlechner family took over the inn. Years later the building was completely refurbished to bring all the modern comforts into the old building, without disturbing the original harmony of walls and vaults. All efforts were put into preserving the warm and cosy atmosphere of the traditional South Tyrolean rural mansions. Today, the old cellar with its earthen floor is still used to store noble wines and schnapps as well as pickles and preserves to be used for the preparation of delicious South Tyrolean and Italian specialties.
The hotel was last renovated in 2020. Next to the comfortable rooms and suites, you will find two brand-new apartments for self-catering. The winter garden offers a spectacular view of Mount Sciliar and the Santner Peak. You may relax in the indoor swimming pool, on the lawn or in the wellness area which offers a sauna, a steam bath, an infrared cabin and a beautiful relaxation area. The hotel also offers relaxing massages and beauty treatments.
A dog park with washing and drying facilities is available for four-legged darling.
