Val Pusteria, now a tradition...

There are four of us in our family and by now, cycling along the San Candido-Lienz cycle path has become a tradition! Our children, now teenagers, have been hiking the 45 km road, almost entirely downhill, since they were 5 years old. The area is beautiful, peaceful, nestled in the mountains, bordering the Drava River, and with its waterfalls and green landscapes, it's truly idyllic. This year, we chose to stay in Villabassa, a pretty village 10 km from San Candido, to see new places. It was an excellent choice. We had a wonderful time at Pensione Klara; the room was beautiful, clean, and had all the comforts, including a table for eating on the terrace. The breakfast was well-prepared and plentiful, much appreciated by all. The staff was kind, friendly, and very helpful. An experience we'd recommend and definitely repeat!

The best Klara!

A wonderful guesthouse, top-notch family management, friendly and helpful staff, and everything was very clean. I can recommend it to anyone wanting to visit Villa Bassa; I'd definitely go back!

Friendliness, friendliness and good food

For a couple of years now, the Pusteria Valley has been our holiday destination, and every time there's always something new to see and discover. We spent a week feeling like family, thanks to the warm welcome, friendliness, and warmth of Mr. Evaristo (owner and excellent chef of Pensione Klara, who pampered us with delicious and hearty dinners) and the efficient Manuela, head of table service, whose smile, warmth, and charm brought a breath of positivity both at the start of the day (breakfast) and at the end (dinner). The rooms were clean, comfortable, and had balconies (ideal for relaxing after a long day and taking a shower while waiting for dinner). The guesthouse is ideally located to meet everyone's needs: families with children, couples, singles, seniors, young people, and athletes (bikes can be rented directly from Mr. Evaristo, and the bike path passes right outside the guesthouse, making it ideal for joggers or a leisurely walk). Furthermore, short trips take you to wonderful places, and those who enjoy more challenging hikes or climbing will be spoiled for choice here. Those who want to add a touch of culture, art, customs, traditions, and history can explore the surrounding villages or, just a few kilometers away, visit beautiful Tyrolean-style villages and learn about their history, as well as visit churches and museums. Several Austrian cities are also within easy reach, as the border is very close. Also not to be missed is the stunning Kurpark (Park) located right behind the guesthouse: ideal for walks (or runs) amidst the greenery and plants (botanical trail); for relaxing moments, sitting on a bench, perhaps reading a good book; with a children's playground, tennis courts, and a bocce ball court. The park also features a Kneipp path (to be explored barefoot, where the main element is water). If you're vacationing in these areas, we recommend staying at Pensione Klara because you'll truly feel at home, enjoy the excellent cuisine, and if you're not sure where to go... just ask Mr. Evaristo, who will recommend some wonderful destinations.

Cordialità, simpatia e buona cucina

Da un paio d’anni la Val Pusteria è la meta delle nostre vacanze, ma comunque ogni volta c’è sempre qualcosa di nuovo da vedere e scoprire.
Abbiamo passato una settimana sentendoci come in famiglia, grazie all’accoglienza, alla cordialità e alla simpatia del signor Evaristo (titolare ed ottimo cuoco della Pensione Klara, che ci ha coccolato con squisite ed abbondanti cene) e l’efficiente Manuela, responsabile del servizio ai tavoli, che con il suo sorriso, la sua cordialità, la sua simpatia portava una ventata di positività sia all’inizio della giornata (colazione) che alla fine (cena). Le camere erano pulite, confortevoli e con balcone (ideale per rilassarsi un po’ dopo la giornata e una doccia, aspettando la cena).
La Pensione si trova in ottima posizione per rispondere alle esigenze di chiunque: famiglie con bambini, coppie, persone sole, anziani, giovani, sportivi (si possono noleggiare direttamente le biciclette dal signor Evaristo e la pista ciclabile passa proprio fuori dalla Pensione, adatta anche per chi corre o vuole fare una tranquilla camminata). Inoltre con brevi spostamenti si possono raggiungere posti meravigliosi e chi ama fare escursioni più impegnative o scalare, qui ha solo l’imbarazzo della scelta. Chi vuole anche aggiungere un pizzico di cultura/arte/costumi/usi/tradizioni/storia, sia nei paesi vicini che, viaggiando per pochi chilometri, può visitare stupendi paesini in stile tirolese e conoscerne la storia, visitare chiese e musei; si possono anche raggiungere alcune città austriache in quanto il confine è molto vicino.
Inoltre non si può dimenticare lo stupendo Parco (Kurpark) che si trova proprio dietro alla Pensione: ideale per delle passeggiate (o correre) in mezzo al verde, alle piante (sentiero botanico); per momenti di relax, seduti su una panchina, magari leggendo un bel libro; con parco giochi per i bambini, campi da tennis e bocce. All’interno del Parco inoltre è presente il percorso Kneipp (da fare a piedi nudi e dove l’elemento principale è l’acqua).
Se andate in vacanza in queste zone consigliamo di alloggiare alla Pensione Klara perché vi sentirete davvero come in famiglia, potrete godere dell’ottima cucina e se non sapete dove andare... chiedete al signor Evaristo che vi consiglierà delle bellissime mete.
