Great to be back at this undisputable nr 1 hotel, staff and environment

The hospitality of the Clara family and staff! Furthermore, the village, the snow conditions and the atmosphere around. The excellent food everywhere on the slopes and in the hotel!

Professional service and family style ’attention to detail’

I have been returning to Mareo (previously Carmen) for many years and although the hotel/pensione has expanded greatly, the friendly family-touch remains. Quality of food is excellent and the convenience of access to the ski slopes is well organized. Highly recommended.

A marvellous blend of professional service and family-run friendliness

We have known the Mareo (formerly Carmen) hotel for many years and although the hotel has grown in size and the services have been extended, the 'pensione' of the past is still found in the attention to detail and welcoming approach of the owners and their staff. The food is excellent, using many local ingredients, the rooms are cosy and the extended sauna and well-being facilities have just added to the feeling of relaxation. The ski-minibus service and arrangements for lockers at the bottom of the ski-slopes work very well.

Superb

We stayed at Hotel Mareo Dolomites twice and will definitely come back again! The staff is very helpful, cares about every detail is really involved in what they are doing - the best service we have ever experienced! The cuisine is excellent - rich breakfasts and refined dinners. The ski slopes are very close and you are taken there by a shuttle bus (it takes 3 minutes). Rooms are really nice with a great view. After a full day of skiing you can relax in the spa area, drink herbal tea, swim in the swimming pool or use saunas or a whirlpool tub. Thank you for our great Christmas holidays! Will try to come in summer as well.

Wonderful :) This is why you travel all the way to the Dolomites!

My wife and I have been traveling to other parts of the Alto Adige area for a couple of years now and this was our first visit to San Vigilio and we chose the hotel Mareo. We could not have been more happy with our choice. The town itself is charming and the hotel has an overview position on the valley. Cows are grazing nearby, the sound of their bells and the chiming of the town churches bell is great. We had chosen a room in the new building and were very happy with the size and the lovely spacious terrace. We enjoyed the wellness area everyday, we loved the outdoor jacuzzi and the steam room. What really blew us away was the quality of the breakfast and dinner as well as the great wine selection! We could not stop raving about it. If you are into wine, this is the place for you. Thoughtful selections of the best of local wine are offered as a suggestion with dinner every night and they are spot on. The sommelier is knowledgeable and loves to share his hidden gems with his guests. He is a great addition to the overal experience at the hotel. I would definitely stay here again when in the area and can definitely recommend the Mareo for fellow travelers looking to experience a bit of pampering in the Dolomites.

Great trip March 2018

My wife and I spent a week at the Hotel Carmen while skiing at Kronplatz. It was an outstanding stay, extremely hospitable and kind staff. We are especially grateful to Filippo, whose language skills, patience, and consistent good humor made our stay really enjoyable. We enjoyed the atmosphere, location and views, the good shuttle service to/from the Miara gondola station, and availability of ski lockers at Miara through the hotel. We would highly recommend the Hotel Clara to others.
