Fantastic hotel, extraordinary welcome

We stayed at Hotel Sonnenhof for the first time in August 2025 and would like to express our sincere gratitude to Mr. Fabian, in particular, for his warm welcome and great availability. Even though our reservation was last-minute—and we were also traveling with our daughter's family, including her husband and four children—Mr. Fabian managed to accommodate us comfortably, demonstrating great attention and professionalism. We were impressed by how attentive and kind he was in accommodating our every request, always with a smile and with the support of his fantastic staff: everyone was kind, helpful, and friendly. The rooms were spotless, meticulously maintained, and very comfortable. The food was exceptional: we loved everything, from the quality of the dishes to the variety of the menu. The weekly events were also wonderful, such as the Ladin dinner in the Stube—an authentic and delicious experience—the Sunday aperitif with live music, and the truly special Ferragosto dinner! The atmosphere is familiar, well-kept, and refined, and you feel truly at home, welcomed, and relaxed. We will definitely return as soon as we have the chance!

Our second home

This is our seventh time returning to this hotel, which has become our second home. As always, everything was wonderful; we spent some wonderful family days, welcomed and pampered by the entire Castlunger family and their staff. Fabian, the owner, and his wife Miriam, who always welcome us with joy, making us feel at home; Angelo, the owner's father, who entertains the evenings with live music; and his wife Maria, with whom it's always a pleasure to chat; the older children, Lian, Amos, and Alina, always available and smiling; Antonella, the head waiter, and Salvatore, who now know our habits and favorite dishes and with whom we understand each other with just a glance. In the kitchen, we find Giuseppe, an excellent chef, who manages to surprise us every time with new and delicious dishes, such as the watermelon gazpacho served at the Ferragosto dinner or the blackberry risotto with goat's cheese balls we sampled at the Tuesday forest dinner, not to mention the delicious Ladin dinner on Thursday (my favorite) and the Plan de Corones cake on Sunday evening... In the evening, the hotel bar is a pleasant place to enjoy an aperitif or digestif on the outdoor sofas or in the cozy lounge bar. In the afternoon, you can enjoy the pleasant indoor wellness area or the hot tub in the charming courtyard behind the hotel. During the day, the hotel offers numerous activities, such as the Wild Forest or e-bike rentals for a relaxing ride. In winter, the Kronplatz ski slopes are just steps from the hotel. In short, the Sonnenhof Hotel is the perfect place to spend pleasant and relaxing days doing sports, enjoying the wonderful surrounding nature or the local culture, always feeling at home! Class, style, elegance and professionalism

First time in San Vigilio. I found the hotel to be very welcoming and friendly; the food was excellent (I wish I could have brought the chefs home with me). The themed dinners were fantastic! The Ladin dinner in the stube was a wonderful experience. All the staff, from the housekeeping staff to the front desk, were fantastic. The waiters were always attentive and kind. Overall, a wonderful experience. Thank you all!

Fantastic stay

Our first time in San Vigilio, and our stay couldn't have been better. The first positive note is the extreme kindness of all the staff, from the owners to the various service staff. Breakfast and dinner are excellent, with constant availability of vegetarian options. The hotel offers many activities during the week (aperitivo with music, après ski, Ladin dinner) in an engaging yet discreet way. The proximity to the slopes is excellent (there is a small climb/descent), but it's just a few meters away, and the location is central to the town's shops. A fantastic holiday!

Fabulous stay at Hotel Sonnenhof - again!

This is our family’s favourite hotel. We keep going back, and have introduced many friends from all over the world to Hotel Sonnenhof and to skiing area in San Vigilio di Marebbe. Fabian, Miriam and the team are great hosts. Thank you for looking after our group so well. We will certainly be back!

Unforgettable holiday

My husband and I spent both New Year's Eve and Easter at this fantastic hotel. Besides the excellent location, we were also impressed by the family atmosphere and the helpful staff. We will be back again in the summer for our summer vacation! Advised!

Friendliness and well-being

We were three couples with a three-year-old daughter. Everything was wonderful: the welcome, friendliness, and helpfulness of the staff and owners; it felt like family. Everything was very convenient in terms of location and amenities. Plus, the breakfasts were plentiful, varied, and spectacular. We felt pampered. The rooms were clean and had plenty of space to organize our belongings. What can I say? We'll be back if we can, thank you.

Fantastic holiday

We found this hotel by chance, and well, what can I say... we couldn't have asked for anything better. The village is very pretty, especially for its snowy landscapes, but the best thing was the hospitality of the hotel staff. The hotel made us feel at home, they were super helpful and ready to satisfy any of our requests. The rooms are beautiful and fully equipped, including for the wellness area. The half-board option gave us the opportunity to sample excellent local products, and the option of a hot cup of tea as a snack is a great service included in the price that makes all the difference. I thank Fabian and his staff for everything, I couldn't have asked for anything better. PS I hope to be able to come back for a horse ride

Kindness and professionalism

Super!

We stayed at this fantastic hotel for two nights. The welcome was warm and welcoming. We were offered two glasses of prosecco upon arrival and given a gift box containing various booklets and maps about the area. Our room, the Stuben Suite, was breathtaking: beautiful, clean, and with a view of the mountains. The relaxation area was well-kept and spotless! On Thursday evenings, they serve a Ladin dinner, excellent food in the romantic atmosphere of the cellar. The breakfast and dinner were 5-star. The staff was professional, welcoming, courteous, and kind. We truly enjoyed our stay. Congratulations!

Fantastic hotel

Excellent as always

Third time at the Sonnenhof: as always, we had a wonderful time. The staff and owners were kind and helpful. This year, we were given a room upgrade, which was very much appreciated! Optimal

We spent a perfect week at the Sonnenhof! Pampered from morning to night: despite having a skiing accident, I had a wonderful time.
