Located between the highway exits of Pontebba and Tarvisio (Alpe Adria A23), the hotel restaurant La Baita has been managed by the Buzzi family for over 25 years. It has 20 rooms, 43 beds, private bathrooms, telephone, TV and wooden furniture and is wheelchair accessible. A large private parking for cars and busses, garage for motorbikes or bicycles (which you can also rent at the hotel), small mechanic workshop and washing machine are also available. Generous breakfast with sweet and savory buffet, genuine cuisine with particular attention to the traditions, using local products. There is always a solution for special requirements too, such as food intolerances or allergies. The hotel boasts a large restaurant with more than 100 seats and another 30 seats in the pizzeria close to the restaurant. Ideal accommodation for small groups, families or individuals, for lunch, refreshments, guided tours and nature walks in the beautiful unspoiled scenery of the ancient forest of Tarvisio. Malborghetto is a small village in the heart of the Val Canale, situated between the Carnic Alps and the Julian Alps, 720 meters above the sea level. Historically relevant is the sixteenth-century Venetian Palace, seat of the Ethnographic Museum, which testify the history, environmental peculiarities and traditions of the valley, as well as the Church of the Visitation of Mary and St. Anthony (XIII-XIX century). For several years in the fall the Palace has hosted the food and wine event "Ein Prosit", allowing many gourmet to satisfy their palates and appreciate the regional and Italian cuisine in its best expression. The Ugovizza huts, still used for the pasture of cattle producing excellent dairy products, are also worth a visit. Perfect starting point for hiking, trekking, mountaineering, cycling (bike path Alpe Adria), golf, and all winter sports such as alpine skiing, nordic skiing, snowboarding, dog sledding, snowshoeing, ice skating, telemark, indoor rock climbing and much more.
