The hiking hotel Steinpent is a good tip. In the hotel, the amenities of a good infrastructure and large outdoor spaces are combined with courtesy, attention to detail and a warm welcome. The guest is at the center of the team’s attention. The hiking hotel Steinpent is not a barracks full of beds, its size is people-orientated and allows the owners and their team to take care of you, satisfying your requests and desires. In addition, the hiking hotel Steinpent has a story to tell, it is not a nondescript building. There is even a song dedicated to Steinpent Ahrntal.
The origin is to be found in the old field Steinpent, a name that dates back to the archaic German word biwiunta meaning field, and Stein meaning stone. Once here numerous stones were removed, shrubs and trees uprooted, the soil was covered with humus and finally, the field was separated from the surrounding pasture with a hand-braided fence. In popular jargon biwiunta became Peinte and that was how the whole farm took the name of Steinpent. The predecessor, Mr Paul Abfalterer Steinpent, had choosen the ancient name for the hotel, thus demonstrating great sensitivity to the historical roots.
