San Martino in Badia is a community of the autonomic province of Bozen, which is located in the beautiful mountains of Val Badia, surrounded by the Dolomites, the "Monti Pallidi"; at an elevation of 1.127 m. San Martino is deemed to be the birthplace of the Ladinian culture. Historical events, as well as the geographic location and the significance of this area, have contributed to the conservation of the traditions and the Ladinian language. Concise historical events and the way of life of the Ladins can be found in the Ladin museum "Ciastel de Tor". This ethnographic museum was once a castle. In the Ladin Institute "Micura de Rü" you will find more information about the Ladins and their culture. The community San Martino and its local parts Antermoia, Longiarù and Piccolino are nowadays well known and frequently visited throughout the whole year. Let yourself be overwhelmed by the nearly untouched and pure nature and the species-rich animal and plant environment, by taking a walk or hiking trip in the reserve Puez-Geisler. During a tour to Longerù you will encounter a breathtaking panorama; one can nearly say that the landscape seems like a big open-air museum, which is also said about the valley of mills in Campill. Antermoia, as well as the neighbouring areas of Plan de Corones, offers a lot of sport activities like as alpine skiing, skating, sledging, snowshoeing and cross country skiing. Who rather wants to relax and enjoy the pleasant and heeling effects of the water of this area, must try the thermal spas of San Martino. These spas and therapies are especially recommended for rheumatic, circulation or skin problems. A modern Cable car "Piculin" was commissioned in the year 2006 to connect the area of Plan de Corones with Val Badia, and consequently the Sella Ronda. The apartment in the Lüch de Corona (Maso Corona) is very spacious and has a double room with access to the balcony. The living room with TV and sofa bed (190X160) and access to the balcony has large windows and is very bright.
