I’m a professional mountain guide.
My intent
I’ve been getting to know, explore and love my town and the wonderful mountains around it – the Dolomites – since I was a child.
As I grew up, my passion for the mountains and the fantastic outdoor activities available in this dream environment prompted me to take up the alpine guiding profession which is, for me, the most wonderful job in the world. Today I guide anyone with the desire of it up on these mountains on both complicated and easy ascents, summer and winter.
My intent is to convey the knowledge gained over many years of mountaineering, hiking and climbing, and trying to transmit to my clients the love I nourish for this area.

Our trip would not have been the same without climbing with Enrico! My mom and I spent a day climbing with him at Cinque Torri, which included a multipitch and single pitch routes. We were traveling in October, so had to adjust plans slightly at the last minute due to weather but this did not take away from our experience one bit! He was very accommodating. His communication was excellent, he is a very proficient guide, and he was a joy to spend time with. Additionally, he shared some local knowledge and gave us recommendations which enhanced the rest of our trip. Would 100% recommend Guide Dolomiti and hope to climb with him again!

My daughter and I went on a day climb with Enrico and we were most impressed with his qualities. He is an amazing climber and very good at explaining climbing concepts. He is always putting safety first, while helping you to push your abilities. He is very knowledgeable in local history and natural science. I have been guiding on rivers for 20 years and know a quality guide when I see one!

Enrico guided us over four incredibly exciting and wonderful days on the Via Ferratas around Cortina. We were new to Ferrata, but he quickly (and gently) worked with us to build our confidence AND skills in using the gear to climb safely and efficiently - so much so, that by the fourth day we felt ready to tackle ferratas on our own. Enrico’s deep roots in Cortina and in Alpine Guiding allow him to guide intuitively and with great empathy. He is also very knowledgeable about the history of the area. We recommend him enthusiastically!

Enrico is the best! We went climbing on our first via ferrata and Enrico made the trip absolutely fabulous! These days were the highlight of our trip. Enrico is a great communicator throughout, was so engaging the whole day, and won over our 2 teenagers immediately with his humour and warmth. I wish we could give 10 stars!

My boyfriend and I met Enrico at his recommendation at the Lino Lacedelli climbing gym in Cortina. It was a fortunate encounter. From the very beginning, Enrico showed us his great passion and dedication to the mountains and their rules. After getting to know each other and climbing indoors for a while, we planned a day of via ferrata climbing, our first. In Enrico's pleasant company and vast experience, we climbed one of the newest via ferratas built by the Cortina Alpine Guides, the Ra Pegna, in the Duca D'Aosta area. Besides belaying us to him with a rope and explaining how to tackle the most technical sections of the via ferrata, Enrico instilled a sense of security throughout the climb, while also letting us experiment and have fun. The climb was easy thanks to his advice, and the arrival at the top of the tower was thrilling. Happy to continue, we also climbed the Astaldi trail together, which is easy to climb and accessible. Between Enrico's technical notes and his amusing anecdotes we really appreciated the route which, besides being a beautiful via ferrata, is also an interesting destination of geological interest. There was no shortage of tales of historical episodes, memories, and lots of laughter. We were truly satisfied with the experience. We said goodbye, hoping to see each other again, perhaps when we're more experienced with trails and via ferratas, because you don't have to be a beginner to enjoy the company of such a kind, enthusiastic, and friendly guide! We highly recommend Enrico as a guide!

La nostra prima ferrata con un vero maestro della montagna!
Io e il mio ragazzo abbiamo incontrato Enrico su suo consiglio nella palestra di roccia Lino Lacedelli a Cortina. È stato un incontro fortunato. Fin da subito Enrico ci ha mostrato la sua grande passione e dedizione per la montagna e le sue regole. Dopo esserci conosciuti e aver arrampicato indoor per un po’, abbiamo organizzato una giornata di ferrata, la prima per noi. Insieme alla piacevole compagnia e grande esperienza di Enrico, abbiamo fatto una delle ferrate più nuove realizzate dalle guide alpine di Cortina, la Ra Pegna, in località Duca D’Aosta. Oltre ad assicurarci a lui con la corda e spiegarci come affrontare i passaggi tecnici più delicati della ferrata, Enrico ci ha trasmesso grande sicurezza durante tutta la salita, non senza lasciarci liberi di sperimentare e divertirci. La salita è stata agevole grazie ai suoi consigli e l’arrivo in cima al torrione emozionante. Contenti di proseguire, abbiamo fatto insieme anche il sentiero Astaldi, di facile difficoltà e accessibilità. Tra le note tecniche di Enrico e i suoi divertenti aneddoti abbiamo apprezzato moltissimo il percorso che, oltre ad essere un bellissimo sentiero ferrato, è anche una interessante meta di interesse geologico.
Non sono mancati i racconti di episodi storici, ricordi e tante risate.
Siamo stati davvero soddisfatti dell’esperienza. Ci siamo salutati con l’augurio di rivederci, magari quando saremo più esperti di sentieri e vie ferrate, perché non bisogna essere necessariamente dei "principianti" per godere della compagnia di una guida con così tanta cortesia, entusiasmo e simpatia!
Consigliamo davvero Enrico come guida!

read moreFirst time multi-pitch in the mountains, fantastic experience!
We were in Cortina for our honeymoon and decided to do two days of climbing with a guide. We chose Enrico based on the positive reviews we found online; we couldn't have made a better choice! We had a great time; he was very attentive, patient, always explaining everything, and truly kind. We spent two days, the first on the small Falzarego peak and the second on the Torre Grande (South Peak) at the Cinque Torri, followed by a few single-pitch routes in the area. Choosing routes wasn't easy, as it was early June and there was still a lot of snow; plus, we've only been climbing for a little over a year, so we don't know how to do anything special. We couldn't have found a better guide than Enrico, both professionally and personally. Enrico is not only a great guide, but also a person with so much interesting to tell and a genuine pleasure to talk to. We hope to return to Cortina soon and climb with him again.

Prima volta multipitch in montagna, esperienza fantastica!
Siamo stati a Cortina in viaggio di nozze e abbiamo deciso di fare due giorni di arrampicata con una guida. Abbiamo scelto Enrico attirati dalle recensioni positive che abbiamo trovato sul web; non avremmo potuto fare scelta migliore! Ci siamo trovati benissimo, molto attento, paziente, spiega sempre tutto e davvero gentile. Abbiamo fatto due giorni, il primo giorno sulla cima piccola del Falzarego e il secondo sulla Torre Grande (Cima Sud) alle cinque Torri e poi alcuni monotiri in zona. La scelta delle vie non è stata facile, perché era inizio giugno e c’era ancora molta neve; inoltre noi arrampichiamo da poco più di un anno, quindi non sappiamo fare grandi cose. Non avremmo potuto trovare una guida migliore di Enrico sia dal punto di vista professionale, che personale. Enrico non è solo una brava guida, ma anche una persona con tante cose interessanti da raccontare e con cui si parla davvero volentieri. Speriamo di tornare presto a Cortina e arrampicare di nuovo con lui.

Enrico is a wonderful person, knowledgeable, and highly experienced. We spent a wonderful day with him, where he shared his love for the mountains and his work. The excursion included some via ferrata sections, and even though it was our first time, Enrico made us feel at ease right away, proving himself to be highly competent and willing to help us with any difficulties. Not all guides are the same, just as people are not. Meeting Enrico made us very fortunate in both ways: an exceptional guide and a truly human and friendly person.

Enrico è una persona squisita, preparata e con grande esperienza. Abbiamo trascorso con lui una giornata meravigliosa in cui ci ha trasmesso l’amore per la montagna e per il suo lavoro. L’escursione comprendeva alcuni tratti di ferrata e, nonostante per noi fosse la prima volta, Enrico ci ha fatto sentire a nostro agio fin da subito, mostrandosi molto competente e disponibile ad aiutarci alla minima difficoltà.
Non tutte le guide sono uguali, così come non lo sono le persone. Incontrando Enrico siamo stati molto fortunati in entrambi i sensi: una guida eccezionale e una persona di grande umanità e simpatia.

The lure to the Dolomites is deep-seated in me since 1970s. It was during my short packaged tour to the Tyrol from the Hafelekar Peak the Dolomites range was pointed out to me. Sourcing information on the attractions and activities then was not easy. Now the information choice is so wide and readily available from the internet. My wife and I find Italy a fascinating country with many places we yet to visit. However, the time is due my deep down wish be fulfilled. During my research on the Internet I found a website with just the things I wanted. Geology of the mountain range, brief history of the place, attractions and activities and just the person, Enrico Maioni accredited certified mountain guide. I have been exchanging emails with Enrico since last November for hiking information on the Dolomites. He is excellent and patient with my persistent emails for information on hiking treks, transportation and hotel recommendations. Not once he failed to reply or doubted if I am serious with my gathering for information. The information is to be circulated to my group of six friends all unanimously agreed on Enrico’s one week guided trekking tour. We now anxiously waiting to realise our Dolomites trekking tour late September. The COVID.19 pandemic unfortunately determines if it is on or off. Our hopes are high and fingers crossed come summer tourism activities in Italy and rest of Europe return to normal. We look forward to meet you Enrico, to proudly guide us to the beautiful and scenic chosen parts of the Dolomites. Thank you for all the answers to my questions and the help to prebook our huts accommodation. The next six months is a long wait to my wish come true. Thanks Enrico

I've been going on trips with mountain guide Enrico Maioni for 30 years. I started going with Enrico when I was 7, and now that I'm 37, going with him is always a great feeling of safety, great fun, and allows me to discover splendid views and experience wonderful emotions! He's one of the most experienced climbing guides in the Dolomites. Our last climb together was in November 2019; it was the Falzarego Ridge.

Ho iniziato ad andare con Enrico quando avevo 7 anni e ora che ne ho 37, andare con lui è sempre una grande sicurezza, molto divertente e mi permette di scoprire panorami splendidi e vivere emozioni bellissime! È una delle guide più esperte in arrampicata delle Dolomiti. L’ultima arrampicata l’abbiamo fatta insieme a novembre 2019; è stata lo spigolo del Falzarego.

I've always loved the mountains since I was a child, and climbing has always been a dream of mine; doing so safely has been a priority. That's why I decided to climb with a knowledgeable mountain guide and that's how I met Enrico. To date, Enrico and I have done about fifteen climbs around the Dolomites, and besides being an excellent mountain guide, over time he has also become a dear friend, a rope-holding friend, the climbing buddy who gives you security and creates an unbreakable bond. Tying yourself to the same rope and knowing that Enrico is on the other side makes a simple outing in the mountains a wonderful and unforgettable experience. The smiles, the stories told, the breathtaking views, but even simply a good lunch and a cold beer after descending from the peak we'd just climbed together, are emotions I'll always carry in my heart. To anyone who wants to spend a day in the mountains safely and in the company of a dear friend, I wholeheartedly recommend Enrico Maioni. A hug dear friend of the rope team and see you soon, until the next mountain outing together!

Un compagno di cordata... un amico
Ho sempre amato la montagna fin da piccolo e arrampicare per me è sempre stato un sogno; farlo in sicurezza, una priorità.
Per questo ho deciso di arrampicare assieme ad una sapiente duida di montagna ed è così che ho conosciuto Enrico.
Ad oggi io ed Enrico abbiamo fatto una quindicina di arrampicate in giro per le Dolomiti e oltre ad essere una guida alpina eccellente, con il tempo è diventato anche un caro amico, un amico ti corda, l’amico di cordata che ti dà sicurezza e che crea un legame indivisibile.
Annodarsi alla stessa corda e sapere che dall’altra parte c’è Enrico rende una semplice uscita in montagna un’esperienza meravigliosa e indimenticabile.
I sorrisi, le storie raccontate, i panorami mozzafiato, ma anche semplicemente un buon pranzo e una birra fresca dopo essere scesi dalla cima appena scalata insieme, sono emozioni che porto sempre nel cuore.
A tutti quelli che vogliono passare una giornata in montagna in sicurezza ed in compagnia di un caro amico consiglio di cuore Enrico Maioni.

I was lucky enough to have Enrico as a guide on a wonderful snowshoe hike he organized on Monte Piana. Enrico is an expert, professional, and highly knowledgeable guide, capable of conveying his love for the mountains to his lucky clients to the point that even those, like me, who aren't passionate about peaks, whether snow-capped or not, have only one wish: that our next vacation comes soon so we can organize new excursions with him. From his stories to his knowledge, and finally to the magical photo reportage he so kindly sends to the lucky ones, you return home with eyes filled with poetry and a great desire to relive intense moments of inner peace and harmony with the universe... Pura poesia!
Ho avuto la fortuna di avere Enrico come guida in una ciaspolata meravigliosa che questi aveva organizzato sul Monte Piana.
Enrico è una guida esperta, professionale e preparatissima, capace di trasmettere ai fortunati clienti il suo amore per la montagna a tal punto che anche chi, come me, non ha la passione delle cime, siano esse innevate o meno, ha una sola voglia: che arrivi presto la prossima vacanza per poter organizzare nuove escursioni in sua compagnia.
Dai suoi racconti, alle sue conoscenze per finire al magico reportage di foto che così gentilmente invia ai fortunati, si rientra a casa con gli occhi pieni di poesia e tanta voglia di rivivere dei momenti intensi di pace interiore e di armonia con l’universo...

read moreWonderful experience in the Dolomites!
I was looking for a climbing trip to go on with my son, I am 48 and he is almost 14. I had done some climbing in the (distant) past, but my son had only recently started rock climbing and only on climbing walls. After reading Enrico’s web page and his seeing his experience we contacted him and discussed our options. We decided on 4 days guided climbing, we did 2 Via Ferrata, 1 multi-pitch rock climb and 1 day of sport climbing at a crag. It was the first week of June and there had been a lot of late season snow which limited our route options, so experienced route selection was critical. Enrico is a very experienced local guide, he immediately knew what the best routes for the conditions and our abilities were. He is confident and assured, which rubbed off on us, keeping the climbing fun rather than stressful even while half way up a very exposed rock face. His warmth and humour made the experience feel more like climbing with a new friend rather than a professional guide. We will return to the Dolomites to do more climbing and we will climb with Enrico, if he is available. The day that my son and I had on the multi-pitch climb gave us a sense of achievement and memory that we will always share. Although now we want some more...
