Mont Avic Nature Park was established in 1989 as the first nature park in the Aosta Valley. It protects the upper Chalamy Valley in the municipality of Champdepraz and, since 2003, also the Dondena Valley in the municipality of Champorcher.
Covering around 5,800 hectares in the heart of the Graian Alps, the park borders Gran Paradiso National Park and has been designated both a Site of Community Importance (SCI) and a Special Protection Area (SPA) under the European Union’s Habitats and Birds Directives.
With more than 100 kilometres of waymarked trails, the park offers visitors the opportunity to explore exceptionally beautiful natural landscapes and an impressive diversity of scenery, stretching across the picturesque valleys of Champdepraz and Champorcher.
