Availability and price enquiry

The forest and its extraordinary importance for people and nature are at the heart of the Lahnersäge Visitor Centre, located in St. Gertraud in the Ultental Valley, within the Stelvio National Park.
Here, wood tells its story: from traditional forestry practices to the transformation of a tree trunk into a finished timber board. During the sawing demonstrations, visitors can see an ancient Venetian saw, expertly restored to working order, in action and discover the secrets of traditional woodworking techniques.
Near the sawmill, there is also an old mill where visitors can experience the process of grinding grain and watch the transformation of grains into flour.
The Lahnersäge Visitor Centre provides insights into the fundamental role of the forest and the value of wood. The permanent exhibition is dedicated to the many functions of the forest, an essential ecosystem for maintaining the balance of nature and supporting human life.
Through an engaging immersive experience, visitors can embark on a virtual journey through the habitats of the Stelvio National Park and discover the unique characteristics of this extraordinary protected area, exploring the richness of its flora, fauna and Alpine landscapes.
The Visitor Centre also hosts temporary exhibitions dedicated to nature, local culture and environmental conservation, offering new opportunities for learning and discovery throughout the year.
