Fortress Interrotto
Located at 1392m on Mount Interrotto, from which it takes its name, the Interrupted Fort is a defensive military barrack built in the second half of the 19th century with the purpose of controlling and supervising the Assa Valley and transformed into a fortress at the outbreak of the First World War. In fact, already in May 1916, during the Strafexpedition, it was occupied by the Austrians, who used it as an excellent vantage point towards the Italian positions in front. The fort stands in a beautiful position, overlooking the entire central conca of the Plateau.
Recently restored, the Stopped Fort is within walking distance by taking the 4 km long military road, that starts from the village of Camporovere of Roana.
