Culturally, Naturno also holds wonders. In addition to the parish church of St. Zeno, Naturno is home to the famous St. Prokulus Church, which attracts many visitors from near and far thanks to its unique fresco complex. The St. Prokulus Museum, located in front of the church, takes visitors through four space-time stations: from late antiquity to the early Middle Ages and the devastating typhus epidemic during the Thirty Years’ War. The museum houses, among other things, the Gothic frescoes removed from the church and numerous exhibits related to the Church of St. Prokulus.
The landmark, also known as the ‘guardian’ of Naturno, is Hochnaturns Castle, which rises above the village. The preservation of the castle is largely due to a German citizen, Gottfried Georg Haas, who, during a trip in 1895, was so impressed by the decaying state of the castle that he immediately decided to purchase it.
