Winery Colterenzio

Founded in 1960 in Cornaiano (municipality of Appiano) the Winery Colterenzio today counts almost 300 passionate wine growers that farm over 300 hectares in the best vineyard areas in Alto Adige located between 230 and 650 m a.s.l. Following the methods of sustainable viticulture 12 varieties are cultivated and the grapes hand-picked. 35% of production is red wine, 65% white wine.
The guiding principle of Colterenzio is to preserve the quality of the grapes harvested and to allow a wise winemaking and aging in the cellar. Modern technology, combined with tradition and expertise, allows to produce high quality wines, which are the expression of the varietal character and, most of all, of the entusiastic work of the vintners.
The most famous vine of Colterenzio are: the Chardonnay Formigar, the Cabernet Sauvignon and the Sauvignon Lafóa. More than ten times the Winery was awarded with the prestigious prize "Tre bicchieri" (Three Glasses) of the renowned wine guide Vini d’Italia of Gambero Rosso. The wine with the most awards is the Cabernet Sauvignon Lafóa.
The Winery is located directly on the famous South Tyrolean Wine Road and is surrounded by an idyllic wine landscape. Around the wine village Cornaiano you will find various hiking trails that take you directly through the vineyards. In the wine shop by the winery you will be able to taste and buy all the Colterenzion wines.
