Tribute to Elvio Fachinelli (1928–1989) – Lecture Series
"Tribute to Elvio Fachinelli" is a series of in-depth meetings focusing on the contemporary relevance of his thought: the relationship between the unconscious and the individual, the critique of the psychologization of society, and the link between care, education, and social transformation.
The series offers an opportunity for interdisciplinary discussion with scholars from universities and research centers, re-examining Fachinelli’s work in light of today’s challenges related to mental health and educational dynamics.

The Magic of Drawing: When Images Heal
The refined analysis carried out in the 1960s by a young Fachinelli, based on the works of his patient Laura, shows how a drawing can become another way of telling one’s own story.

The Important Thing Is That People Talk About It? Fachinelli and the Future of Mental Health
Starting from Fachinelli’s political writings, the lecture critically examines the growing psychologization of experience, highlighting its risks, ambiguities, and present-day relevance.

Dissident Desire in Elvio Fachinelli
In the intellectual climate surrounding 1968, alongside voices such as Franco Basaglia and Ronald Laing, Fachinelli developed an original line of thought: the idea of a psychoanalytic practice also addressed to the working class and an innovative approach to the bodily dimension of psychotherapy.
5 September 2026 – Erica Ferrario
Elvio Fachinelli and the Self-Managed Kindergarten of Porta Ticinese in Milan
A radical educational project which, in the post-1968 climate, aimed to transform education starting from early childhood: a utopian space based on self-regulation, as an alternative to the logic of coercion and authority.
12 September 2026 – Sergio Benvenuto
Fachinelli: Trusting the Unconscious
A journey through Fachinelli’s profile as a psychoanalyst, focusing on his idea of the unconscious as a creative and vital force—an energy to be expressed. A vision that runs through the movements of the 1970s and invites us to rethink psychoanalysis as a space of aesthetic openness and transformation.
The series is part of the exhibition "Laüt vo Lusérn – People of Luserna", promoted by the Istituto Cimbro / Kulturinstitut Lusérn. The exhibition places Fachinelli’s thought alongside the paintings of Rheo Martin Pedrazza, creating a dialogue between art and introspection, identity and memory.
An event that brings together culture, reflection, and local heritage in the heart of Luserna.
