The Serrai Gourge open for the winter season

From December 16, 2025, to March 1, 2026, it will be possible to access the Serrai di Sottoguda. Access to the site is permitted exclusively on foot and is done only from the Sottoguda side, at your own risk and with full awareness of the natural hazards inherent in the winter mountain environment. Users are required to strictly comply with the safety regulations and mandatory equipment required, assuming responsibility for the consequences of any reckless conduct or conduct not compliant with these provisions.

PROHIBITIONS
– Unauthorized motorized vehicles are prohibited.
– Skiing of any kind, sledding, bobsledding, or other similar activities are prohibited.
– Leaving the marked trail is prohibited, with the sole exception of climbers heading to the ice falls.
– No access without the following mandatory safety equipment: safety helmet, crampons (or equivalent equipment for walking on ice/hard snow), avalanche transceiver, shovel, and probe.
– No access to the site when the avalanche danger level is 4 or higher (European avalanche danger scale).
– No actions or behaviors that expose yourself or others to risk, such as climbing on railings or leaning over walls or rock and ice drops.

OBLIGATIONS
– Equip yourself with and correctly use the above-mentioned safety equipment;
– Stay on the marked trail, except for climbers heading to the waterfalls;
– Do not lean over railings or stop in areas marked as dangerous or subject to falling debris;
– Before accessing the site, carefully consult:

– Pay constant attention to possible snow, ice, or rock falls from the walls above;
– Respect all safety signs, including temporary ones.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Access for the winter season is free and does not require an entrance ticket. Dogs are allowed provided they are accompanied by people who meet the above requirements in terms of behavior and equipment. It will be possible to park in Sottoguda in the parking lot near the entrance to Serrai or alternatively in Pian and reach the entrance on foot.
The Municipality of Rocca Pietore cannot be held responsible for any damage, inconvenience, or consequences resulting from entering or staying in the area. The municipal administration may decide to close the area early or extend its opening hours depending on seasonal trends, weather and snow conditions, and the site’s safety requirements.
