Cattle drive in the Ridnauntal Valley

On Saturday, September 27th, 2025, the Ridnauntal Valley becomes the stage for a truly special event: Starting at 10:00 AM, the village Maiern invites you to the traditional "Almabtrieb" – the festive return of the cattle from the alpine pastures - a day full of tradition, local flavors, and true South Tyrolean joy of life!

Around 11:30 AM, the festively decorated animals return from the summer pastures and make their way through the village – accompanied by a traditional parade, enthusiastic applause, and real excitement.

Surrounding the event, you’ll find a colorful farmers’ market with local products, crafts, and tasty regional treats. Of course, your physical well-being is well taken care of: Enjoy hearty local dishes, refreshing drinks, and plenty of live music – creating a cheerful, festive mood all day long.
