Uva e Dintorni

With "Uva e Dintorni", the Vallagarina region celebrates the beginning of the grape harvest on the first weekend of September, set in the charming village of Avio.

For three days, this beautiful village in the Trentino region – nestled in the lower Vallagarina and long dedicated to wine production thanks to the vast green vineyards surrounding it – becomes a stage for culture, tradition, and flavour.

Throughout the event, visitors can enjoy courtyards of flavour offering typical local dishes, medieval music, travelling performances, craft markets, guided tours of cultural landmarks, aerial dance shows, stunning light displays, and exclusive wine tastings in the company of local wineries.

The heart of the festival is the National Wine Barrel Race between the Cities of Wine. The competition features four challenges: pushing a barrel uphill, a parallel slalom – again with a barrel – traditional grape stomping, and finally, filling a barrel by throwing buckets of water into it.
