Farmers' festival in Tiso
Journey of discovery through the crafts and customs of the Funes/Villnöss Valley
The farmers’ festival (Bauernfestl) at Tiso/Teis is one of South Tyrol’s most traditional festivals and a true journey of discovery through the crafts and customs of the Funes/Villnösser Valley. During the festival, you’ll learn how to do old farm crafts such as baking bread, weaving baskets and hats, felting, carving and pottery – of course, you can also just watch if you wish. Adults and children alike will love learning the fun way. The sheep shearing is especially popular among the children. At the farmers’ market that makes part of the festival, there are fresh products on offer; freshly prepared, rustic specialties are also served, while musical groups play in the charming village lanes. The festival takes place even with inclement weather, and begins at 10.00 am at Tiso/Teis at the centre of the village.
