Hotel Regina del Bosco - Waldkönigin 

It was the emperor, who loved to come hunting in the Upper Non Valley, who decided in 1883 to start the construction of what would be his "Hunting House".
In 1921 it was transformed into a hotel and over the decades it underwent several interventions, desired by the various owners, maintaining its flair as a place of excellence.
The Queen of the Forest ("Waldkönigin, in German") in its Belle Epoque form sums up a glorious history that recalls the glories of the nearby Mendola Pass. In fact, the construction is due to the Emperor Franz Joseph himself who in 1883, fascinated by the beauty of the place, built a hunting lodge there. The transformation into a hotel dates back to 1921, preserving the room where the emperor slept. Over the decades, the hotel has had various interventions and various properties, while maintaining a role of excellence in the Upper Non Valley. In the post-war period, changes were felt here as well, with mixed fortunes for the hotel, which over the years has hosted politicians and members of German high society and French such as, to name a few, the then German ambassador in Geneva Mumm von Schwarz, and the major shareholders of the French champagne house "Moët Chandon", the countesses Elisabeth de Maigret and Isabelle de Saporta. At the end of the 1980s, there was also talk of a possible mountain headquarters for CONI, and in more recent years there has been talk of staying in the hotel of the famous Rai dancer Don Lurio.
