A dream suspended between earth and sky.
If you are looking for wi-fi or fondue, this is not the place for you, but if you are looking for peace and the authenticity of the mountains, then the Rifugio Passo San Nicolò will make your heart beat faster.
An authentic hut, like those of yesteryear, that keeps faith with its history and tradition where you can refresh yourself with hearty typical dishes surrounded by the most beautiful peaks of the Dolomites, a Unesco heritage site.
Don’t miss the experience of staying overnight in the Rifugio to dine embraced by the sunset, cuddled by the silence and warmed by a blanket of stars.
The Refuge is located at the top of Val San Nicolò and is easily reached from Pozza or Alba di Canazei by climbing up from Val Contrin with routes suitable for everyone, even children (h. 2.30/3) (sent. 608).
Alternatively:
From Pozza, go up with the Buffaure ski lifts to Valvacin; from here, take the Lino Pederiva path which leads to the Ciampac basin and then continue up and down to the Refuge (h.2.00; 4.00). The path is on the ridge and is very scenic; in some sections, to facilitate the walk, it is equipped with a metal cord (sent. 613 - 613 bis);
From Alba: (sent. 613 bis/644) once you have reached the Ciampac basin by lift, you can continue on to Sella Brunech and join the Lino Pederiva path (sent. 613/613bis see above) (h2.00).
For lovers of via ferratas: don’t miss the Ferrata dei Finanzieri and Ferrata Kaiserjäger of Col Ombert!

To climb there

Excellent location, beautiful views of the valley and the Marmolada. We ate an excellent dessert and met the very friendly and charming granddaughter of the refuge manager.

Da salirci

Ottima posizione, bella vista sulla vallata e sulla Marmolada. Abbiamo mangiato un ottimo dolce e conosciuto la cordialissima e simpatica nipote del gestore del rifugio.
