This cozy restaurant is housed in the old barn. Enjoy its stone floor, ceilings made entirely of wood and the large fireplace, always on in the chilly evenings. You can taste refined dishes prepared by the chef using local products and mountain herbs, hand-rolled pasta, ciarsons and rich breakfasts with homemade desserts, cheese and renowned Sauris cold cuts, cereals, yogurt, jams. The honey that is served is produced by bees from the fields surrounding the chalet.
Enveloped by the warmth of the stube-room, entirely covered with wood, you can taste grappa or herbal teas produced in the valley.
A small cellar of selected national and international wines, lovely combined with local cuisine, satisfies the most demanding tastes.

A pleasant discovery

We often use this site to plan our mountain holidays, and, intrigued by a visit to Sauris, we promised ourselves we'd have lunch at Chalet Rikhelan. Unfortunately, due to an unexpected event, we didn't make it in time for lunch, but we still received a warm welcome from the hosts, the elegant Daniela and the friendly Augusto. They told us the history of the chalet, and despite the late hour, we were able to sit in the dining room, where we enjoyed a delicious platter of local cured meats and two glasses of red wine. Our brief visit made us want to return, for lunch (the photos of the dishes are very promising) or for dinner and an overnight stay: the place is fantastic!
