The lovely village of San Genesio/Jenesien is located at about 1,100 m and is easily reachable from Bolzano by car, but also by cable car. The plateau of Salten extends with open meadows reaching the holiday region of Merano. The village is nestled in an enchanting landscape in a sunny position, a popular destination for hikers, families and horse lovers. Numerous hiking trails lead the visitor through pine and larch forests, the colorful mountain flora and breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding mountain ridges. Here you can enjoy pure air and wide panoramic views. The plateau is also the home of the Haflinger horses.
