Farm Le Masche
Founded with the intention of valorising above all the red wines of the territory, produced under the Canavese DOC umbrella, the winery today also produces Erbaluce di Caluso DOCG, and not only. Nebbiolo, Pinot noir, Erbaluce and Barbera are the grapes mostly present in the nine hectares of vineyards.
The name, full of emotional evocations, also stems from a strong link with local history. Facts that really happened in 1474 tell of a trial instituted against four Levonese women accused and condemned for witchcraft. On 7th November 1474, Antonia and Francesca were executed at the stake, while Bonaveria was still imprisoned in 1475 and Margarota is believed to have later escaped from the prisons of Rivara Castle. Four of Lorenzo’s labels bear the names of what were called "masche" in dialect.
