Dì de la Brisaola

The "Di de la Brisaola" is the event that honors and promotes this simple yet nutrient-rich food, created from the experience of the people of these mountains, with records dating back to 1400.

The artisanal brisaola producers (whose name derives from "brisa," the very salty bovine gland) from Valchiavenna (not to be confused with the bresaola of the "cousin" Valtellina) will "invade" Chiavenna, the town awarded the titles of "Slow City" and "Orange Flag of the Italian Touring Club, on Sunday, October 5, to give you a day of taste you certainly shouldn’t miss!

At tasting points spread along the streets of the historic center you’ll be able to sample all the best local brisaola productions.

A festive day that offers not only food and wine, culture, and traditions, but also lots of music thanks to the Swiss "Guggen Band," i.e., carnivalesque brass bands that usually enliven Swiss carnivals.

During the day there are special workshops for children and open city museums.
