Boutique & Gourmet Hotel Orso Grigio 

The most beautiful hotel in San Candido combines genuine tradition and the past with contemporary design: the Orso Grigio/Grauer Bär is the oldest hotel in the municipality and one of the first in the entire Alpine region. Its origins date back to the year 1462.
It is located in the beautiful, historic and traffic-free centre of San Candido. The hotel is a member of the hotel association ‘Schlosshotels und Herrenhäuser’.
Rocco Ferraro, the excellent chef, guarantees the best food. In season, he invites guests to a weekly cookery course in his kitchen. Franz Ladinser, the landlord, looks after the wine cellar: his selection ranges from South Tyrol to Italy, Austria, Germany and France. There is a weekly wine tasting in the summer and winter season.
The hotel has 29 rooms, each with different furnishings and sizes. There is a small wellness oasis in the hotel and a terrace on the roof with breathtaking views. Cosiness and attention to detail make this small hotel a real gem. A warm, friendly and familiar atmosphere make the best hotel services an experience. Guests of the Bären have free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel and bicycles are available during the summer season. All year round, "Orso/Bären" guests have free entry to the indoor swimming pool.
