Field trip to Aosta, Donnas, and Pont Saint Martin for fifth-grade classes

Fantastic outing! Our guide Francesca was patient, friendly, and engaging, using language that was easy for us children to understand. The explanations provided were thorough and clear; she was able to answer all our questions and shared many interesting facts and legends about the Aosta Valley. Discovering the Bard Fort

We planned a two-day visit to the Aosta Valley and decided to start our excursion at the Bard Fort. We'd heard about it many times but had never really explored what it was. We chose the guided tour through the website and contacted Francesca, who kindly and promptly arranged a meeting for Saturday morning via text message and WhatsApp. We met at the parking lot below the Fort itself (convenient and not too expensive). Francesca immediately understood that the explanation had to be as "smart" as possible so as not to bore my teenage children, who initially weren't exactly thrilled with the weekend getaway. Through the models on every level of the Fort, with some compelling historical references to Napoleon, Stendhal, and Cavour, and last but not least, a reference to the film Avengers: Age of Ultron, she captured the attention of both the little ones and the adults, who for a moment identified with the people of the Aosta Valley of yesteryear, trying to see through different eyes all the splendor that Fort Bard must have had over the centuries. The visit is essentially an easy stroll, aided by three elevators connecting the three works dedicated to Carlo Alberto, Vittorio, and Ferdinando. It's important to note that access to both the exterior and interior of the Fort is completely free. There is a charge for the internal exhibitions and displays, including the prisons, which we visited independently, taking advantage of the explanations provided by Francesca during the tour. Thank you, Francesca, for making us marvel at such an imposing structure, taking us on a journey through history while overlooking a wonderful landscape!
