Gasthof Waldruhe enjoys a stunning location halfway up Mount Elmo, overlooking the Sesto Meridiana mountain range. The welcome is warm and welcoming. You can sit in either the old or new stube, both comfortable. Stefan follows his grandmother's recipes with a sense of pride in his local cuisine. Among the appetizers, the venison fillet carpaccio and the seasoned graikäse (a type of pork stew) stand out. Tradition reigns supreme in the first courses: the buckwheat pappardelle with fresh mushrooms are a must. The highlight is among the second courses: roast pork shank, just like Stefan's grandmother used to make!

During our 10-day vacation in July 2017 in Sesto in Pusteria, we dined at this restaurant three times because we had such a great time. The Tyrolean dishes prepared by Stefan are delicious and plentiful. The two waiters are excellent. The prices are reasonable. The view of the Sesto Sundial from up there and the deliciousness of the dishes more than make up for the somewhat narrow road to the restaurant, which is part of the Garni Waldruhe. We will definitely return to this fantastic restaurant next summer.

Durante i 10 giorni di vacanza a Luglio 2017 trascorsi a Sesto in Pusteria, siamo andati a cena in questo locale per ben tre volte in quanto ci siamo trovati benissimo. I piatti tirolesi preparati da Stefan sono buonissimi, abbondanti. I due camerieri sono bravissimi. I prezzi sono modici. La vista sulla Meridiana di Sesto che si gode da lassù è la bontà dei piatti ripaga ampiamente la strada in po’ stretta che si deve fare per arrivare al locale che fa parte del Garni Waldruhe. La prossima estate ritorneremo sicuramente in questo fantastico locale.
