Summer presentation photo Tourist office Groscavallo
Graus Vald, green valley, is the probable meaning of the name with which the first Celtic inhabitants called Groscavallo, a greenish-picturesque plain in the beautiful context of the eastern Levanna and the Uja di Gura and Ciamarella, the last municipality of the Val Grande di Lanzo.
The gastronomic delicacies offered in the restaurants and farms in sometimes pleasantly hidden places ensure that the dishes of the local tradition, which also often come from the old recipes of the grandmothers, can be enjoyed. The joy of preserving the traditions has led to the introduction of the "Feast of Bread": at the end of the year the old oven of Migliore distributes for a few days again its fine scents and the enthusiasm of Piero’l’Panatee (Pietro the baker), Darius and many other volunteers allow baking micunen, agnulon (typical baked products) and apple pie and distributing it to all...
Groscavallo is located at 1100 m above sea level in a 96 km long area and is today an ideal tourist destination for people of all ages throughout the year. The picturesque and functional long ring (about 18 km2) allows runners and athletes to discover the area with its forests and slopes wearing skis and ski poles. Forests and slopes also represent a beautiful destination for walks or hors-riding tours in summer.
