Holiday in Resia Pass
The villages of Resia/Reschen, Curon/Graun and San Valentino/St. Valentin are located along the old Roman imperial road, the Via Claudia Augusta, on the border between Italy, Austria and Switzerland. The unique location between different cultures has characterized the people and their country. The centre of the region is the drowned Romanesque tower that juts from Resia Lake.
The big spectacular lake in the Resia Pass holiday area draws enthusiasts of uncommon sports like kite surfers and snowkite surfers and all those who like to spend their holidays by the water. The side valleys Vallelunga/Langtaufers and Roja/Rojen have hardly been exploited for touristic purposes and remain quiet resorts for holidaymakers in search of peace and unspoilt nature. In winter snow is guaranteed at elevations beyond 4,600ft/1,400m.

In love with the Vinschgau Valley

Oh my, it's so beautiful... I traveled by public transport to Sankt Valentin auf der Haide, stayed overnight at Regina's charming little guesthouse, and the next day took the cable car up to the Haiderhalm and hiked over to the Schöneben Alm. A truly humorous and lovely group of people lives here, from the bus driver with his polished, charming wit and singing, to the mountain lad high up who was installing the new wooden benches. He took a picture of me as the first person to sit on one (I hope I get the photo)... and advised me to enjoy a beer in peace after the hike... Oh my goodness, I'm completely in love with the Vinschgau Valley and the people who live there. A real gem, right on the border of Austria, Switzerland, and Italy, with a truly exceptional charisma... My almost brand-new hiking boots, exactly the color of the two lakes, pure turquoise, carried me over hill and dale. Even the jovial cable car man said: "Oh my; the buses aren't running, they're on strike!", but I didn't have to walk across the asphalt in the midday heat to the village for a taxi or finally a beer, because the bus came anyway, and here too the driver was so authentic and simply great: "It's too hot to strike!" Warmest regards, a girl from Lake Constance

Verliebt ins Vinschgau

Herzlichst, a Maderl vom Bodensee
