La Villa, 1450 m a.s.l., a village of 1000 inhabitants, has been increasingly living on tourism since the 1930s. At the beginning especially summer tourism, then, with the construction of the ski lifts (the chairlift to the Col Alto was the first in Italy) mainly winter tourism.
