Inverno 2026: Cortina d’Ampezzo in the spotlight

After hosting the Olympic Games in 1956, the Queen of the Dolomites returned to the international stage. In 2026, Cortina d’Ampezzo once again welcomed spectacular Winter Games competitions, combining the elegance of its town centre, first-class hospitality, and a deep passion for winter sports.

The 2025-2026 winter season in Cortina was marked by a packed calendar of events and an exceptional influx of visitors – all set against a UNESCO World Heritage landscape. In the Tofane ski area, snowboard competitions for athletes with disabilities took place, while the Alpine skiing events for athletes with disabilities, as well as the women’s Alpine skiing races, were held on the famous Olympia delle Tofane course. On the “Eugenio Monti” bobsleigh track in Cortina, athletes competed for podium places in bobsleigh, luge and skeleton, while the curling competitions – including wheelchair curling – were hosted at the Olympic Ice Stadium in Cortina. The competitions were scheduled across the first two weeks of February; events for athletes with disabilities mostly took place during the second week of March.
Those who chose Cortina during this time did enjoy a one-of-a-kind mix of sport, history and social flair – all in front of the breathtaking backdrop of the Dolomites!
